    Trail Blazers: Now What?
"Mostly though, after watching Dallas steamroll the Lakers in the second round, it feels like an opportunity lost. There's no guarantee Portland would have had the same kind of success the Mavericks had, but it does feel a bit like the Lakers were ripe for plucking, and the Blazers certainly could have had a good chance to get to the conference finals. Who knows. It's probably a waste of time to overthink that."

Oregon Live: You Be The GM: Andre Miller
"He finished second on the team with 11 double-doubles, scored in double figures 53 times, including eight games with at least 20 points, and passed out double digits in assists 15 times this season. He averaged 14.8 points and 5.5 assists and 32 minutes in six playoff games against the Dallas Mavericks. "

Blazersedge: 2010-11 Portland Trail Blazers Roster Rundown: Rudy Fernandez
"That said, Rudy did a better job of fitting in on both ends of the court this year. He wasn't out of place on defense nearly as much and even provided some spark through steals and fourth-quarter energy. Some of his passes are automatic highlight reel material and he has a nose for getting teammates the ball at the rim. He was actually able to get to the rim with more consistency this year. The stats say his close attempts were up slightly as a percentage of the whole and his effective field goal percentage on those close shots rose significantly. To the eye, though, he still has major trouble finishing at the rim. You hold your breath rather than pump your fist when Fernandez attempts a layup. More success off the dribble allowed him close attempts and passes both and this would be the biggest area he needs to work on. "

ESPN: Cavs win No. 1 pick; Wolves 2nd
"It's sort of Nick fashion. He has been doing it his whole life to some degree. I'm proud of him. I'm proud of the way he carried himself and I am very excited for the fans of Cleveland, Ohio who have been through a very, very rough year," Dan Gilbert said. "They deserve it more than anybody and they have some good hope now."

Ball Don't Lie: Nate McMillan does not like what he sees
"It is still the coach's job to squeeze a result greater than the sum of its parts from his team, but hasn't McMillan already done that? And with the draft approaching and the window in which teams can wheel and deal shutting down for an underdetermined amount of time due to the lockout, McMillan's got to be feeling the itch. It's not that he doesn't like these guys, far from it, he just knows that this particular combination has gone about as far as it can go. And even that was a result of an impressive batch of hard work on McMillan's end. I know Paul Allen's money is nice, but could you imagine having to coach this team?"

Ball Don't Lie: David Kahn hints at lottery malfeasance, remains very unlikable
"This league has a habit, and I am just going to say habit, of producing some pretty incredible story lines," Kahn said. "Last year it was Abe Pollin's widow and this year it was a 14-year-old boy and the only thing we have in common is we have both been bar mitzvahed. We were done. I told Kevin [O'Connor of Utah]: 'We're toast.' This is not happening for us and I was right."

Ball Don't Lie: Dirk Nowitzki sets a playoff free throw record, as the Mavs take Game 1
"His set-shot, too, as Nowitzki drained an NBA playoff record 24 straight free throws. The Dallas Mavericks dumped the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night by a 121-112 score in the first game of the Western branch of the NBA's final four, and Dirk dropped 48 points while missing just three of 15 attempts from the field. The 32-year old All-Star took on all Thunder comers on his way to those 48 points, bringing rain as jumper after jumper dropped down from the Dallas rafters, and Oklahoma City could only marvel in return."

DIME: Dime NBA Mock Draft: Cleveland Snags The Top Pick, And Probably Kyrie Irving
"With only an 11-game sample, Irving was able to display why he may be the best prospect in the entire draft. His combinations of vision, shooting and scoring are maybe the best we’ve seen since Chris Paul. With the franchise in need of a savior, Irving is the best guy to build around."

SLAM: Jazz Won’t Try To Replace Deron Williams In Draft
"The Utah Jazz took another baby step towards getting back into the top-tier of the Western Conference last night, catching the luck of the draw and ending up with the No. 3 pick in the upcoming draft. With Derrick Favors and Gordon Hayward, the Jazz have a solid young core to build upon. And with a plethora of guards (Kyrie Irving, Kemba Walker, Brandon Knight, etc..) available, many expect Utah to try and fill the void left by Deron Williams, but Jazz GM Kevin O’Connor realizes there might not be another player of Williams’ caliber in this draft."

    ESPN: Daily Dime
"On a Tuesday night in mid-May, in his increasingly serendipitous 13th season, Nowitzki's Mavericks finally came back to work and Geschwindner's vision, at last, played out as neatly as it ever has. Dirk didn't attempt a single 3, but that was the only thing missing from No. 41's stat line. Even the exacting, professorial Geschwindner had to smile after Nowitzki played 41 near-flawless minutes in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals, ringing up the cleanest 48 points imaginable."
