It's summer which means some of the best movies are released from May to September.  Use this thread to discuss everything movies. Rate, review and suggest movies to fellow fans. If you're unsure of a movie, always check out RottenTomatoes beforehand. Not only do critics nation-wide review the movie but you get audience reviews as well. Typically anything over 65% is a good score. But I suggest using it only as a tool and not the end all decision maker. I mean the critics gave the best movie of all time, Home Alone, a 43%..psssh

Personally, I really want to see Super 8. Currently, it's getting an 81% review from RottenTomatoes which makes me confident its going to live up to my expectations, because there's nothing worse than having high hopes for a flick and it bombing big time.

Others I hope to see in the cheap theaters are Hangover 2 and Transformers 3 (RipCitySarah SWEARS by it, so I'll have to take her word for it) and the wife will definitely drag me to the Harry Potter Deathly Hollows Part II but I'm still pretty stoked to see the conclusion of the series.

So Rip City, what movies are you anxiously anticipating? What movies should we avoid? And which ones are worth the price of admission?

Well, I recently got Netflix, and am currently watching Saving Private Ryan.  Can't believe it took me this long to get Netflix.  Been watching some great shows and movies on it.  It's the price of a movie ticket to the theaters for a month, so worth it.

As far as movies in the theaters, I'm visiting my friends in Vancouver BC to see the new Harry Potter.  Problem is, I don't know a single damn thing about Harry Potter nor does it interest me at all.  Only reason I'm going to go see it is because nothing else looks that good, and they're big fans.  Personally, I'll just be happy to see it completely end.

I just can't wait until September for all the good video games to come out.  Starting with Gears of War 3 :P

Yea, the movies have gotten way outta control price wise. I just found out I get 6 months free of HBO through my cable provider so I've been watching a lot of movies for either the first time or for the first time in a long time. Saw Groundhog Day and Zombieland because of this trial and I have to say Zombieland was much better than I had ever envisioned.

Yeah that was a GREAT movie.  I normally don't like zombie flicks, but this one was great.  Bill Murray might have had the best cameo in movie history in that one.
