Hard to believe the season (preseason) has arrived. Its a bummer Camby is going to he held out. I sure hope his injury isn't anything serious, because Lord knows we need at least one healthy center. It'll be interesting to see how some of the players who shined in Fan Fest play against another squad. Can Bayless keep it up? Will Matthews continue to drain outside jumpers to go along with his stellar defense?

I am hoping that Nate and staff give AJ a good hard look at the back-up point spot.  I like Jerryd, but feel that his days may be numbered here.  I will say that Bayless looked better running the team at FanFest than what he had shown leading up to...just not convinced that he can become a PG (IMO), even with his noteworthy work ethic.  Fred Jones, another local product from a few years back and also a "tweener", never really acknowledged what JBay has, and his career suffered.  This battle for minutes at the 1, is maybe what I am most looking forward to.  Past history tells us Nate doesn't call on rooks much, but I am thinking AJ may be a first.  His game mirrors that of his coach.

I stand by my prediction that Wesley Matthews will be a fan favorite by the start of the season.  We just saw a glimpse of what he is going to bring at FanFest.  When healthy, and with league-leading shot blocking behind him, this Blazer team will be VERY formidable.

Now i'm very nervous about this game that Camby will be out. What happened? I am also excited to see the Clippers and how Blake Griffin will do, and of course our team. Most excited for Wes Matthews.

I think they are just going easy on Camby, they know he's our only big man for a little while, and he's got old feet. We need him not only to take us into Nov-Dec when hopefully one of our other centers are coming back, but also to be available when playoffs, and if/when one of our bigs goes down again. Stuff happens, gotta plan for the worst as they say, and I believe there is nothing that will catch CHO and company off guard...they are too overstaffed for that lol

Groin strains take forever if you don't let them heal all the way (like hamstrings), so I'm glad Camby is sitting out. When did he actually hurt it though?

Remember for everyone attending, when Mark Mason, our P.A. guy, guys says "This is Portland and this is..." the fans yell out "OUR HOUSE!" in unison.

Looking forward to seeing  more Pendergraph, as well as the lineup Nate talked about on courtside with JBay,Rudy and Wesley.  Imo, if it works well, no need for a trade while the rookies learn.

Not concerned about Camby, no need to risk an injury in preseason. I actually like not knowing what the real deal is with the back up  center, if we don't know, neither do other scouts. If Blazer brass were that concerned, a trade would go down before the season starts.

Like Hawes said ^^^  finish  the pa announcement  " and the rose garden is .... OUR HOUSE !!! "

    Go Blazers !!!!

No, the game is not televised tonight. Will be cool to see Griffin play again and I really want to see Matthews tear it up again. Also, could we see the Matthews, Batum, Roy lineup on the court tonight? Nate said the starters will go about 30 minutes and the rest will be for the young guys.

Blake Griffin vs. LA..looking forward to this matchup. I really want to see Aldridge take the rookie to school and be relentless down low. He has a good size advantage over Blake and he needs to put his back to the basket and do work down low. Show off that new 255 lb body and punish Blake every time down the floor. I do hope we can see more shooters out three. Outside of Luke and Nic, we have no shooters. So, can Wesley continue his Fan Fest shooting? And will Elliot and Armon hit some outside shots? I definitely want the offense to be paint focused, but we do need some players to be able to spread the floor.

Just found out that Camby is out for the game..bummer..but it'll be nice to see what Jeff can do after that interesting Summer League performance.

I believe Wheels calls all the games, pre and regular season.

TomL- Check out the ticket link here: Buy Tickets

The prices look to be exactly like a regular season game. $10 for tan, $14 for red and so on...

to bad nobody important plays for the Blazers or us fans that live 100s of miles away would be able to watch the game.  If we had some of the big boys like LeBron, Kolby, or others the game would be televised as their games are going to be.  Of course they also have local sports networks that actually choose to serve their customers unlike what we have here in the great Pacific North-West.

A major thing that needs to happen this game is Brandon's performance.  The team obviously has a lot of good players who can score, but Roy needs to still recognize that he's the team's leader and the best scorer.  He needs to average at least 22 a game this year.  I hope he's aggressive even in the preseason, just to show that he's ready to get after it and compete with all-stars like Kobe and Wade.  I hate it whenever Roy just stands in the corner and watches the offense happen.  I want to see him come out aggressive and hungry, even if it's just a preseason game against the Clippers.

FYI: Being a team leader doesn't mean that he has to score that much. Being a team leader means that the player is reliable when needed most. I am commenting on this because I always disagree with common notions of being a team leader. The team has a lot of scorers. What makes Brandon a leader is his maturity to deal with situations and his ability to step-up when needed the most.

In terms of the pre-season: it is what it is, the pre-season. Don't expect too much from players at this stage, because they also have to take care of their health.

I don't want to get overly excited already but Armon just seems like he is gonna be a real nice pg for us. He also hit the game winning shot to put us ahead by 29 points at the buzzer! ha ha. I think he has quick hands, and I liked the way he was already telling people where to go on the floor. Don't know if it was the right places to go, but he definitely isn't afraid to tell them. He didn't even seem nervous on offense, just on defense a few times.

Brandon definitely seemed more motivated to play better d more consistently. Maybe thanks to Matthews. I wish he would have drove in a little more instead of settling for so many jumpers.

Wesley just fits in already, and he was hot tonight from the 3 point line, played solid D and got to the free throw line (like I wish Brandon would).

I wish Batum played more minutes but he started out on fire hitting two threes and a J.

Jerryd is doing a bit better but I just think he takes too many shots without running any offense first.

I just love Andre's court vision and passing. I think he will make it easier for Lamarcus and Greg to become all stars.

LAMARCUS! He definitely went to the hole a few times, even after getting bumped. Got aggressive and had some nice offensive rebounds too, he just looks stronger, I am excited about that. I haven't always been a Lamarcus enthusiast, but if he keeps this up I will be and I really believe he will be an All Star no problem, but I really think it will shoot us into the next level as a team.

Babbit and Williams were definitely nervous.

I need to go to bed, but this team was so exciting tonight! I guess I was going through withdrawals. I feel a little better now.

Here's some video I took while I was there.
