Doesn't look like anybody has said anything yet.  Personally I thought Patty did an excellent job on the court he was running the offense a lot better than I expected

Sorry, I still see a defensive liability.  Doc was a lot nicer than I would have been to Patty.  If I were Doc, I would have had Rondo post him up more  before Dre came back in, I guess he really didnt need to though, Rondo can still shoot and pass right over Patty with his length ......

Looking ahead to the playoffs and a 7 game series.
I have no use for a pg that the opposing pg can see over. Saw enough with mighty mouse. Don't care how fast they are.  Mr Allen and I will never see eye to eye there.
Westbrook, Rondo, Rose , Evans and Wall are the future of pgs in the nba.
My rookie AJ needs to learn. Throw him in there, so he can take his licks, and get the process started sooner, rather than later.

I guess you wouldn't like Chris Paul who is the same exact height as Mills. And Rondo is a WHOPPING one whole inch taller! But bottom line is 3 inches is not that big of a deal at the pg position, which most of those guys you mentioned and AJ are 6'3". As long as you're at least 6' with some skills I think you can handle the NBA. Now if he were Earl Boykins or something I would understand.

Plus AJ was doing good at the beginning, never great. Now he seems to think he is a scorer and a finisher instead of a distributor, I didn't like that. Now we get to see what Patty can do, he hasn't had that chance yet against real NBA competition.

Actually Tom, if you think about it, I have never jumped on the trade for CP3 bandwagon. Not to take anything away from him, but his days of being the best pg in the league are behind him. I also was against the Blazers drafting Curry, even though I <3 the kid.
Everyone has the right to their own opinion. I'm 5'2", and I've stood next to Patty and Damon,   neither are 6 feet tall . No matter what the Blazers list them as.
I won't even waste my time on the difference in wingspans........

Yeah because wingspans are so relevant when you have fast feet and quick hands and you play in a position that doesn't require shot blocking as a skill set...

you say he's a defensive liability, but he's been just as good if not better than the starters at stopping the ball. He's an energy guy at the 1, if he doesn't make mistakes, and stops the ball, all your other complaints should go out the window. Roy and Batum aren't stopping the ball, aldridge and camby aren't rotating quick enough or aren't able to put themselves in the right position to rotate. Armon doesn't stop the ball better than patty either.

LOL!  Sorry guys, not trying to take anything from the good Patty is doing.  I prefer AJ, and beleive he will benefit sooner if he plays sooner.
You will never convince me that wingspan isnt important. Pattys "fast" first step is sideways not forward  with the length he gives up. In a series, a liability. Until I see otherwise, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
The same appplies to the pg musical chairs.  If the plan Nate has used for the last 3 years works so well, were are those pg's now ?
Jack ? Chacho ? Bayless ?  Use the same plan and expect a different outcome ? Just sayin .....

Patty just put up very good numbers as backup pg against the Clippers in 9 minutes of game time, 3/3 fg and 2/2 3pg 8pts with 1 assist. KIM, it  looks like your boy Armon may need a pillow to sit on while hes on the bench.  At least with Armon's wingspan - he may be able to help put up that Patty Stacks poster above your bedhead.

Plus I'm not to sure about your sideways comment.  Have you seen Patty sprint the floor on a fast break - I'm pretty sure he is running forward and not "sideways"!

The C is a bit harsh, he doesn't deserve anything less than a B. He brought energy, assists, scored and stole the ball! He didn't look sloppy doing it, so I feel he did his job; the job Nate expects him to do. This isn't the playoffs, when the playoffs get here then I can see rating his performance, however, sticking to the original post, I'd say well done to Patty.

I give Patty a B- as he brings offense and energy, but he lacks defense. Armon Johnson is better defensively, but suddenly got to much ego and had to take a seat on the bench. But, thats ok cause its good to see Patty Mills finally get his chance after riding the bench for the past few years. It will be interesting though, to see whether Nate will continue to go to Mills, or revert back to Johnson after he has spent enough games in time out that he has learned his leasson.

You seem to forget what this PG did to the dream team at his 1st outing at the olympics, how quickly we forget, and his stella performances for St Mary's. Its about time he was given a chance and I don't think anyone could be disappointed with his performances when you consider how little time he's been given to play over the past season and heading into this one.

Patty is going to rip teams to shreds given half a chance.

The only reason I get excited about Portland games is in the hope that Patty will get some game time. Before last week I had been hoping Patty may get traded before the trade deadline, Portland has way to many point-guards. Patty Mills deserves game time and if Portland wont give it to him they should do him a good deed and trade him to a team that is not as guard heavy as Portland. Patty Mills proved himself at the Olympics (his speed gave even the U.S.A. team a hard time), Patty proved himself in his college day at St Mary's, Patty proved himself at the FIBA tournament (without Andrew Bogut, Patty Mills became the leader of the Australian team). Not only that but Patty Mills has been putting in the hard training hours since he was little to get were he is today and even when he is not being played time and time again Patty Mills still supports his team as much as he can.
Patty Mills A+    Future NBA legend right there

Lets be clear here KIM, you have a bias towards Armon and because of this you run Patty down blindly regardless of his performance. Too small, defensive liability, some rubbish about side stepping, wingspan issues blah blah blah.  Lets not forget your tune about keeping Patty on when the team/KIM was so in need of a center and because of this Patty was a burden on the team, whilst deliberately overlooking the fact that the Blazers went out and drafted 3 rookies Babbit, Williams and Johnson - 1 small forward and 2 guards!  Not once in all your posts have you included that fact when lambasting Mills presence on this team.

LOL Portland has to make the playoffs first, and when /if that happens I'm not sure that Nate is going to use a 2nd year player that's had less than 50 minutes of NBA game time under his belt in total - lets be real here.  Patty has done a good job in his recent games and hopefully he can build on this.  KIM you use the argument of how would Patty fair in the playoffs against bigger and better quality players in an attempt to undermine his value on this Blazers team.  Well I ask you - how would any 2nd year/rookie player in this league fair against the NBA's best guards; because that is what Patty is essentially, young and raw.  If your going to run Patty down with that argument, perhaps you should consider the fact that your boy Armon would also get shown up by the leagues best guards. If only you would cut Patty some slack like your prepared to allow for the turnover machine Armon.

Might I add, at least Patty has shown the new rookies on the team and probably some of the older players what a team orientated player does; support the team when your not playing, keeping a positive attitude, work hard and you will get your opportunity - this alone is the culture a team needs to exhibit if it wants to develop into a successful TEAM.

Well Kingfisher, we shall all see how Mills does.
I will always be a believer that AJ will not get better from the bench, and don't expect a rookie to be perfect. It also isnt only AJ I prefer over Mills.
Again, if the past 3 years of pg musical chairs is any indicator, Mills could be seeing playing time to increase his trade value.
I will also always believe that Mills roster spot should have gone to a back up center twice now.
My opinion is not going to change, and you seem a bit to concerned about it......

He played very good lately but this is his job. He brings a lot of good energy to the team but calm down it is only a few matches, wait for next and then we will see if he still play good or not ?! I prefer AJ because he is rookie and play the same or better sometimes from Patty. I like Patty and I really want to see big progress in his play but I am waiting safe for next matches . GO Patty !!!

I agree - Everyone has forgotten what he did to D.Will and CP3 against the USA - absolutely shredded them off the dribble, ran Australia's offense and finished at the rim against Howard and Bosh. Coach K, CP3 and Kobe all spoke highly of him and CP3 openly admitted that he was outdone.
I never knew where Australia was until USA played them, and was SO HAPPY to find that the Blazers had drafted Patty Mills - but the lack of court time of somone of his potential is disappointing... I think Miller will be a great mentor for Patty as he moves his way into the rotation.
I think Patty will become one of the league's best in assists and outside scoring - Hybrid mix of Tony Parker/Chris Paul and Steve Nash.
When Nash first came into the league he was drafted late - it took until 2nd/3rd season for him to flourish - same concept with Mills, give him a chance and this kid will perform, with 8-9mins hes already racking up impressive stats!
    Prediction: Starting PG in 2years
Franchise Players: Mills, Oden and Batum.

I feel much better about the 2nd unit. I'm sensing that Patty and Rudy have good chemistry. And i think that Nic and Rudy have good chemistry. I feel like this team is finding a groove finally. It's not all the way there, but these last two games, i think they've learned some good things about themselves.

I would love to regularly see Patty and Rudy bring that baseline alley oop back, from the sergio rodriguez era. It can be one of the bread and butter plays i look forward to, just like camby-aldridge =)

Nic and Andre did it to carmelo earlier this season.

I'm looking forward to the Magic game. I won't be surprised if Portland loses. All i ask is that they play hard and smart. Go blazers!

I really appreciate Patty b/c he is a truly supportive team mate through good times and bad- he is always the first player off the bench to high five players during a time out.he's super energetic, loves his team and his team-mates AND loves portland...follow him on twitter if you're not sure about this. he has been 100% psyched on portland since day 1 and he has the same enthusiasm whether he plays or not, and that's something special. the other night vs Suns he really was aggressive and used his chance to play more. he was penetrating and then passing to the open player. i think he has great speed and passing vision. he can take advantage of a fast break and is a good outside shooter. i think w/ more confidence that he'll only get more adept at the point. I have watched him since his frosh yr at SMC and he is the real deal so i am glad portland has stuck by him and i think Paul Allen has something to do with this...so thx to you Paul for that. i am so glad Patty's dad got to see his performance the other night.
    great stuff! go blazers!
