Portland has a golden opportunity to right the ship at home against an Eastern power, Orlando. Not only can the Trail Blazers get back to .500 with a win but can generate some much-needed momentum before a extremely difficult 3-game road trip that has us in Phoenix and San Antonio of all places.

I think the biggest key for the Trail Blazers to escape the Magic is to keep our bigs out of foul trouble against Dwight Howard. Also, Jameer Nelson is listed as day-to-day so his availability for the game could sway the outcome. Also, if you're going to the game. Be loud and wear RED!

Front court play will be key to us winning the game, Hoping the bench can keep up its solid play as well.

Wear RED, and give Andre a little extra cheer during the starting line-ups tonight...he needs some love. :-P

Correction Dave...difficult 4-game road trip!!! Yes, I agree...our big boys we will need the whole game to contain Dwight. If our bench plays like it did against the Suns we will be in good shape. I really like how LA looked like he "wanted" the ball towards the end of the game and how he knocked down big free throws, as did all the Blazers!!! Amazing foul shooting boys! Keep it up. Once again movement on offence will be the the big key and playing a in-out game to keep the defence honest. Also, not getting lazy on those passes will help to! I think the Blazers can gain a ton of momentum by winning this game. Go BLAZERS!

    peace out,

We went 1-1 against Orlando.  3-1 against the Suns.  3-1 (we all know that's 4-0) against the Mavs, and 3-0 against the Spurs.  We went 2-0 AT memphis.

These teams are definitely different, but we're capable of going 5-0.  I expect 3-2 AT WORSE.  I say we beat Orlando, Dallas, San Antonio, and Memphis.  I don't feel so confident against the Suns for some reason.  I think we'll shock the league by ending Dallas' winning streak. Camby > Chandler.

Keys to winning tonight are the same they have been all season.  The only difference, is the opponent...namely Howard.  The offense must again find a way to run inside out.  The challenge, ofcourse, for this Blazer team, is accomplishing this without a low post scorer.  Nate has had his work cut out for him.  I would agree too, that because it IS Dwight Howard tonight, the bigs must stay out of foul trouble.  Attack, attack, attack.  Go Blazers!  Go Andre!

Tough, tough game today. How we win this game is if we're able to get into the paint with regularity and produce points from there. Either kicking it out to the open man, or scoring in the paint. That's the area we need to control and attack.

Magic are a very good team compared to the Suns and Clips, but I think we can beat the best teams especially at home. Should be a exciting game to watch.

the howard issue is big, but not as big as the nelson and friends can be.
We know howards is going to be there, come to play, he's going to get 10 and 10 right away, the big factor will be the level at which the rest of the magic team shows up to play with.
They dont always come out 100%, Jameer is a big one too, not to mention a potential trade candidate for this team, he could help save the season.....
But players like Carter, and Peitrus, Lewis, we will have to see, and for us...
Aldridge is going to probably be the most important player for Portland in this one, next will be either Rudy or Armon/Mills.

Watch for Andre and Joel tonight....Andre coming back from the suspension will look to punish the Magic, and Joel will $#@! slap Howard...he wont take any of Howard's crap plus I have a feeling Joel is gonna have a good game all around.

Tobyus official Keys to win this game:

3 pt shooting %- Magic let them rip. The Blazers have to get out and defend open shooters.

Assists -  Blazers must be help each other and find open guys, the Magic have good shot blockers in the paint.

Use Kryptonite - Mug Superman, straight up. Limit the easy baskets by burning up the team fouls on Dwight.

Wow, what a great performance but what i like most was that everyone in the arena was wearing Blazer colors, more then I ever seen, great support on our part. Watched this game on TNT. In your face Charles Barkley lmao! Funny how he talked about how Orlando was standing around and not playing like an elite team thanks to the Blazers doing their part. If we can beat the Magic, I feel we can beat any team. 3 IN A ROW BABY!

For those who went to the game, excellent job with the Red Out and of course, a great win for us!! A win against one of the better teams in the East. I think we've done a good job of bouncing back from the 6-game slump. For those who had given up on the team - well, you shouldn't have. Yes, we may not have the same expectations, but we still have a lot to give. I know we don't like ESPM here, but there was a nice little article on Wes on that Daily Dime:

    NAME
    Matthews

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Cancel the funeral dirges. It appears the Portland Trail Blazers may contest the rest of the season after all.

Portland played its most complete game of the season on Thursday, coming from an early 14-point deficit to topple the Orlando Magic 97-83, for its third straight win. The Blazers have clawed their way back to .500 at 11-11, and find themselves tied with Phoenix for the coveted eighth position in the Western Conference.

And for that, they can thank that rarest of rarities: a midlevel-exception player who has proven to be worth his money. While the Curse of the MLE has claimed victims far and wide, Portland's Wesley Matthews -- who signed a front-loaded five-year, $33 million deal with the Blazers this past summer -- has instead been a revelation.

Matthews scored 20 points in the victory Thursday and is averaging 21.1 points per game in nine outings as a starter. Moreover, his contributions are exactly of the variety the Blazers had been missing. He's proven a jack-of-all trades scorer who can hit 3-pointers off the catch, attack off the dribble and get out in transition -- all areas where the post-up heavy Blazers have struggled to produce points, especially with Brandon Roy's gimpiness.

Portland, meanwhile, is starting to figure out how to play through Roy's limitations ... partly because Matthews has proven so capable at creating offense on the wings. For the season, in fact, he leads the Blazers in points per minute and shooting percentage -- even though he's had virtually no plays called for him.

When the Blazers signed him, they thought they were getting a defensive stopper who would hit a few 3s. He's done that -- witness the sequence in which he fought off the bigger Rashard Lewis in the post before drawing a charge -- but has proven to be much more as well.

As a result, this is one midlevel deal in which the signing team doesn't have buyer's remorse. The Blazers still will land shy of the lofty goals they had entering the season, but as long as Matthews keeps delivering, they may not fall as far as originally feared.

We have the Suns number this year so far, so hopefully we can keep it going! GO BLAZERS!!!!
I am a fan of Lillard, Batum, Lopez, LA and T Rob taking it to other teams!
