Portland's hopes to salvage a split on this four-game road trip, but if they are to do so, they must defeat an angry Dallas team at home. Not only is American Airlines Arena one of the more difficult places in the NBA for Portland to play at (sans Andre's 52), but the Mavs are coming off of an embarrassing loss at home on Monday to the Bucks, in which they blew a 20 point lead.

For the Trail Blazers to upset Dallas, they must play loose, without a care in the world. Not many experts would expect them to defeat Dallas in Dallas, so go out and play without any pressure. I think that's been their biggest issue this year. They just seem to tighten up late in games instead of just playing ball.

Big test tonight. Imo, the west is Dallas' to lose, since they have been known to choke in the playoffs.

Today is a new day, this team and fans ( myself included ) need to quit over thinking everything thats gone wrong, and believe they will work it out.

Attack with a team effort !!

    Go Blazers !!!!

Well, what can you say at this point besides hope for better shooting! One of our biggest problems right now is that we cannot get the ball in low for some reason and we ended playing the game 15 feet from the basket and that leads to alot of desperation shots to beat the 24. How can we NOT have a post game when we have LA and Camby??? I do not understand somewhat??? If we have no post game, we have no outside game therefore only putting up 75-85 a game which is not going to win ballgames. ATTACK the hoop!!!! Draw the fouls!!! Make the defence collapse so we have OPEN outside shots. Crossing fingers tonight...GO BLAZERS ;-)

    peace out,
    daddy

I couldn't agree with you more daddy, we need to regain that Blazer confidence that we know we have, step up and actually take the open shot, a lot of times we get down the court and hesitate on taking shots... Lets regain that confidence and get those shots in the bucket! We can't have anymore 3-16 games for Roy...

Loved what Mike Rice said in the chalk talk today about shooting percentages. If we want to win there is no way we can continue to shoot under 50% from the field and allow the other team to shoot above. We need to pull out all the stops and as daddy said, attack the basket, get to the line and then close in with defense!! Gotta bring it all if we want to walk away with a W tonight. And someone please make sure Rudy packed his three goggles, we could use them ;)

Speaking of Rice, he brought up a good topic: Who should defend Dirk in the clutch tonight? We all saw how well Batum disrupted Dirk at the end of Miller's 52 point game, but Aldridge has length as well, Camby has his veteran tricks, and Wesley flat out will out-muscle anyone in the game to get it done. So out, of those 4, who should guard him? Even though he's in a funk, Batum is my choice. He's proven it once before and he'll do it again! Maybe getting some DEFENSIVE stops can get his offense rolling?

I agree Dustin because Batum plays the best defence without committing all the fouls the others would. His arm length (span) is key in disrupting the shot and the pass!

Batum on Dirk but definitely not Matthews!! Dirk will just shoot right over him no problem. Keep Camby on whoever they have at C.

Also Brandon is looking really bad today. His knees look like they are getting worse and worse. I feel so bad for him.

Well we lost again... but LAMARCUS ALDRIDGE!!! Who is that guy that was dominating in the paint in the 4th quarter who almost single handedly brought us back and won the game?!?!? Wow I was blown away by Lamarcus tonight! I've never seen him be that aggressive and if he plays like that every night he would easily be among the top 2 or 3 PF's in the nba. The ESPN guys were lovin him and saying he should have been doing it all along. I agree.

We may have won if the stupid refs would have called that obvious foul when Dre drove in and got hammered! Especially after all the touch fouls called on Dante, Brandon and others in the 4th!!! And don't say I am complaining. It is called observing. Even Hubie Brown said it was a foul. Also the time Patty got ran over and there was no call.

I liked the Andre, Mathews pairing in the back court...Maybe move Roy off the bench until he is healthy?

No one was stopping Dirk on this night. Sometimes, great offense wins over defense. We made him take tough shots, but he's cold as ice in the clutch. I liked the lineup of Patty,Wesley, Nico, Dante, and LA. They got out there and RAN! That's what we need to do more of since our offense bogs down in the half court set.

Hawes will be a hot commodity by the trade deadline, I would think the sixers could find a better offer.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...
