LA's play since that Dallas game in December has been great. From the last 11 games he is averaging 25.72 points and 10.54 rebounds. He's also had 8 double doubles.

For the regular season his double doubles (from his rookie season) have numbered:
    06-07: 6
    07-08: 19
    08-09: 19
    09-10: 24
And this season he has 16, so far, and we're not even half way through the season.

LaMarcus Aldridge will henceforth be known as: LaMan

i think LMA said it best when asked if he wants to be in the allstar game this year.

he said something around the lines of.

i'm just going to play and let my play do the talking. if i get in. then i get it. if i dont? i dont. i just want to win.

al jefferson was on the t-wolfs last few years and he was a 20-10 guy aveage(at least when he was healthy)
yet he never made an allstar game. talked about. but never made it.
because just like the MVP. you have to be on a winning team to make the allstar game.
someone has to have stats on a bad team.

Should he be, YES, most definitely.  Will he be?  Probably not 'cause people are f-tards and LA isn't a big drama queen so he doesn't get the acknowledgement that he deserves.

    that must be it!

    hahah
but really, i heard Blake might be in the dunk contest too.
I mean with that he is for sure gonna take the peoples vote, aldridge may not be as publicly "whored" out, as griffin, but he also doesnt explode as much blake.
blake plays with intense emotion, i think thats what people see.

Its going to be weird not seeing Roy out there though, he totally is that caliber of player, like the 09 all star games, those people, are the grit of the NBA.

Fun Fact: Aldridge's Blazers have nearly as many wins (20) as do Griffin and Love's respective teams combined (21). If defense and winning count for anything, Aldridge should be a shoe-in for the All-Star Game.

@TayC - and that Top Scoring Duo has won how many games? As far as I am concerned, that kind of stat only matters if it means you are helping your team win.

In an interview a week or two ago, Coach Nate said that most of the time, coaches don't like to reward players on losing squads. A big part of that is because they all recognize that numbers tend to be inflated when you are either the only option or one of maybe two options. Bad teams don't generally have the ability to have balanced stats, because not everyone can/will/does contribute. It's why they are bad! So one or two players put the team on their back and get a few wins here and there.

Anyway, Nate also did say however that it is tough to ignore guys like Love, who is having a historic season, and Griffin, who makes such dominating plays. He thought all three guys (Love, Griffin, and LMA) had a legit shot at getting picked by the coaches.

LMA played only 29 mins the other night, had to watch himself for foul trouble the entire second half, and still managed to get a double-double. I think he deserves it more simply because what he is doing has turned into wins for his team (8-5 since LMA became a beast inside vs 4-9 the 13 games before that). That's something Love and Griffin just cannot be credited with, and in this league, winning is all that matters :)

If I thought there was a chance you'd hear me, I would shout...but it wouldn't be "in Awe".  This is a thread asking whether LA will make the All-Star squad.  LeBinky James and D. Wade play in the East and are therefore completely irrelevant to this discussion.  Griffin and Gordon play for the Clips, a team with a losing record, something that was also addressed in the post you are referencing.  Can you hear me shouting?

Well.....tonight, an extremely tired Lamarcus Aldridge will go out and meet up with his direct competition for the ASG, on national TV. I for one, am hoping he is thinking not only about how he can do everything possible to get the win, but also about how he can quietly and authoritatively show he is the better player. I don't expect LMA to out-beast Griffin (who can at this point?), but I do expect this team to take this game very seriously, and do all they can, for the full 48 minutes, to get the W. And along the way, I expect LMA to play his game, put up good numbers despite the opposing monster, and get the recognition he deserves at the national level :)

Well, idk if you have noticed but there has been alot of talk about how people think LA should be an All Star and the Blake Show shouldnt. So Therefore this was just another installment of my argument to attempt and persuade you that Blake Griffin is playing better than Aldridge.

But thanks for your concern. :D

@Eowyn, the point is Aldridge is playing good, Griffin is playing Great.

Aldridge is playing fine, i am not contending that. But he is only making noise in Portland. Griffin and Love are making national noise.
Its not about personal skill, who is better against one another, its about the impact these guys are having against other teams, with their teams, and the impact around the league.

Like i dont know how else to describe it to you. But Aldridge's play in the past few weeks, simply does not compare to the season Love has had, been having, and Griffins.....ROOOOOKIEEEEE season......

I thought LA was schooling Griffin. Griffin looked scared on defense, I was laughing at that. Griffin did get a bunch of boards though, but he barely scored when Aldridge was on him.

First off Casey Jones, dont hop off your train to come yell in my ear, and pretend you know anything about me.
I am not on any bandwagon, i am not a true blazer fan, nor do i sport that i am. I simply have the ability to look outside of the cloud of disbelief that has engulfed this teams fan base and allows them to believe that some of their players are the greatest in the league.

You say Griffin and Love do not deserve to play in the all star game yet LaMarcus Aldridge does, and your only evidence to back up this theory, other than some major trash talk, is "Aldridge Deserves it"
LaMarcus Aldridge has been playing since 2006, he has taken the same backseat role to Brandon Roy for this team over those years. really there was never a momenet when Aldridge realized that he could take the reins, and he should of, because we might still have B Roy out there. But the more important fact is that " it simply has taken aldridge this long to get the job done."

If you can perhaps pretend you are not a die hard fan, and look at this, its called and outsiders perspective, or what you like to call " Band Wagoning"

Love is coming into his 3rd year right? And not only is he leading the league in rebounding, contending with someone as dominant as Dwight Howard, but also did something that hasnt been done in about 20+ years, he got 30 and 30 earlier on in the year.

Blake Griffin, Rookie season, he is crackin skulls. Some of the best PF in the league are having to contend with him and are having trouble. Griffin is i think 2nd or 3rd in most consecutive double doubles this year, and Love i think is 1st. Blake Griffin has a huge impact on that team, that fan base and that franchise, and may i remind you that HE IS A ROOKIE.
You see that only works one way. Griffin gets alot of credit for out playing someone like " Duncan or Gasol. or heck even Aldridge" But when "gasol or Aldridge" beat blake griffin, why should they be praised, Griffin is a Rookie, its a shame to any and all who let him ball.

So really CaseyJones, get back on board and hed back to tomorrow land, and next time you want to say something to me, please do it like a human being some some level of respect.!

    Tom, Bro, i said,
Its not about personal skill, who is better against one another

,its about the impact these guys are having against other teams, with their teams, and the impact around the league.

Im actually just trying to make a solid point but the fact of the matter is none of you are giving me the time or the day to even hear my points, now i can look at this in two ways.
One, i am right and therefore you all just dont have any solid facts to back up any counter arguments.
Or i can look at it in 2, that i am right and you dont have any solid facts to back up a counter argument.

So yall can say what you want, and call me what you want, but the thing is i am making a solid fact to as Why Love and Griffin are going to be in the all star game, and LA is not.
So when the all star games does come on,, and youre sitting there watching wondering how in the heck Aldridge didnt make the team, you know where to go to read why.

like Eowyn Who are you to say anything about me? Like i dont talk a mess on you.
Like Golden Rule homie, Treat other how you would like to be treated.
    So watch out.

I shouldnt even mention this but i will, the fact that you guys call me a troll, and say how i dont read posts, but then there you are, right after i make a post, calling me a name.
Yet you have failed to realize, and READ what other people are posting, such as tom, who is just looking for a fight.
But whatever, i honestly could care less of what you think of me, its you who missing out because i actually do have good knowledge about this game, i have first hand experience and one of the most in-valued things around here, and outsiders perspective.
but thanks for making this all about me , maybe ill make the ASG.

Kevin Love is the Nba leader in rebounding, double-doubles and second best in pts/reb/ast statistics. So he defenetly should be an All-Star. LaMarcus is the new go to guy of the Blazers and plays on his highest level yet, an All-Star-level. Griffin was one of the most efficent power forwards too, but I`m a fan of Aldridge so I hope Griffin will play in the rookie-team.

Becasue you have the ability to acknowledge that Love is playing at the caliber he is playing at.
I thank you for doing that.

TayC, the only argument i can come up with is that both love and griffin's teams arent doing so well even with their amazing statistics. however i see your point about how they're both playing better than aldridge cuz they are, but if their teams weren't so terrible would they still put up the same numbers? LA is more of a factor for his team than the clippers or the wolves. im sure whoever makes the all-star game deserves to be there. my panties wont bunch up because bigger markets wont acknowledge our greatness. lol. now how hard was it for you people to argue and make sense instead of yelling "hey look at me, im from portland and my team is good!"

hahha, well to be honest i never really thought of it that way.
i just kept my argument to the all star game, and who will be playing in it. The players are not chosen to go because of how good their teams are, right? Its their own personal performance, and perhaps the impact you have on your team? Personally?

but ne way, i agree, they defiantly deserve to be there. and i cant wait to see it.
