Who else almost attacked their TV screen when they saw him do this? Can the NBA make some sort of fine for other teams steeling our thing? I think there should be.

i didn't attack my screen, but i did note that he shot 40% from the field and 50% from the line; if i was shooting like that, i wouldn't be poking fun at other players. what's worse is that his own fans had no idea what he was doing. basically, he just looked really stupid.

Eh, don't worry.  The kid is troubled.  As Kass said, he had a bad day.  At least in the end of the day we can sit back and know that we weren't the ones that ended up killing our best friend because we drive like an idiot.

People need to calm down though.  Some people got really offended.  FFS... just let it go.  JR Smith sucks, and once Melo leaves the Nuggets are going no where.   We could have easily had this game if we had Camby, and if Andre and Mathews at least decided to show up.  We could beat them in a 7 game series easily.  Only problem is we live at like 200ft above sealevel while Denver is like on top of a mountain.

What I don't get is the league fines Gilbert Arenas and suspends him a game for having an unloaded weapon, basically putting no one in danger, while JR Smith ends up killing someone by recklessly driving and misses like the first 5 games of the season.  That to me is pathetic and dumb.  Just shows that the NBA decides to cover its image rather than truly punish players for their unacceptable actions as role models.

I wanted LaMarcus to imitate Birdman when he blocked him. He should have flapped his wings and looked into the crowd hahaha. No but that was pretty classless by Smith, but hey, they won the game and we flat didn't show up so that's what we should be worrying about, contesting jumpers and creating ourselves.  Next time we play them, maybe we can get some revenge!

I was pretty surprised to see him throw up the 3 goggles and almost as equally surprised that Battum did not after a three! Especially after Smith had done that. But hey it was only a matter of time before the rest of the league started in on the 3 goggles. YES, it would be funny Herr, if LA threw up the one goggles for sure.

okay, while the one goggles would be funny, maybe is should be Sean ... we can't afford for LaMarcus to get fined or suspended for a game (that would be just like the nba to do it)! that would be hilarious though. i missed it though; after Sean made his three, do he do it?

Am I upset at him for doing that? No, not really. I didn't think he should have done it by any means. It's a Blazers thing and we do it for the teammates and we don't upstage the other team by doing them. It's not like we were taunting them with it. But this is what I've come to expect from JR Smith, so it really didn't surprise me.

Regardless, JR Smith is an uneducated rat who is of very little use (if not useless) to the human species. As are many of the Denver Thuggets players.

At first I was upset because I felt it was classless; But, he was in the Pepsi Center and it didn't seem like he was trying to be entirely serious. He may have just been trying to have fun, but it looked pretty rude to be patronizing the Blazers 3-Goggles. I don't like the guy but Portland should come out next time they play and own the 3-point line. Go Blazers! And Dustin- that's great what Camby said, because of that I have started using my twitter again!

LaMarcus should do the one goggles for every blocked shot, rather than a dunk, since that's worth two.

Cool the 1 goggles are getting some love, but... I don't think players should use it on non jerk players.

If I knew another player was going to throw up the 3 goggles that's NOT a Blazer, no doubt it would have been JR Smith, or Paul Pierce.  Those two have the least class in the NBA.  Anyone notice Pierce bowing to the NYK crowd after Amar'e 3 pointer didn't count?  He wouldn't have done that if his team wasn't filled with better players.  Same with JR Smith.  He won't be doing that when Chauncy and Melo leave.

it's always interestnig to watch a game, even if the Blazers lose.  Just paying attention to the players' body language can be very telling.  Also, seeing Smith do the goggles is truly a taunt, and you should see it to appreciate it.  Others have said that the Nuggets' fans had no clue, but i disagree, it's getting to be a trademark that is known from being seen on nationally televised games.  To have Smith steal and taunt like that, really, I think it deserves a fine.  Just as if LA mimic'd Birdman, it wouldn't be cool...

The way I look at it is that it intimidated him.  I mean, we hit some nice 3's.  He came in and tried to take it.   Didn't stop our boys from making 3's.  Just be glad he took that and not LaMarcus' block!  You have about 3 highlights of LaMarcus who, according to kass, could have put up the 1 goggles at JR Smith.

Too bad we don't get to do that to him again in the playoffs.  Denver won't be making it this year :(

it's only been seen on about two nationally televised games. i've had a few people who listened to the nuggets' broadcasters tell me that the broadcasters had no idea what it meant. i would think that if they didn't, the majority of their fans didn't either. i'm guessing there are not a lot of denver fans who go out of their way to watch trail blazers games.

JR Smith posing for the cameras, didn't bother me nearly as much as Andre Miller "giving up", and walking back up the court on defense after he missed a shot. Late 3rd quarter maybe? I dunno, I got mad when I saw that. That kinda basketball attitude does not sit well with me.

I would never want JR on our team in a million years no matter how "great" he is. We had a history in the past for having a bunch of jerks on our team and that's how we became the Jail Blazers. I love how, now, we have almost all players with the exception of one or two who, for the most part, are in the NBA for the love of the game and not just for the money. Now obviously players are going to tend to go to the team that offers the most money, but we don't act like it's the most important thing. I love how we have a good, nice team. No one (of course I could be mistaking) really seams like a jerk and I really like that about our team.

its not about the part where you complain about the things in life you can change?
hahahah. re title this thread, another excuse to complain...
geez, cmon. does Jr cramp your style when he does that? ITS A GAME. People do that stuff all the time when teams play eachother.
And you know what, JR was an @$$ way before he did this too haha.

    quote from WM on 3goggles.

"Yeah, I saw it," Matthews said. "I take it as a sign of respect. I mean, he thought enough to do it. I mean, pfft, that's J.R."

like what you should be more concerned about is the fact that they KICKED OUR @$$!!!! In a division game we allowed ourselves to get murdered.
complain about that, you call yourself a true "die hard blazer fan" and your complaining about a hand gesture, not the game. puh-lease.

Like you have failed to show me where Rudy Fernadez made the time, in between B****ing and Complaining, where he trademarked the 3 goggles, its on Shirts, and people have sings on them at games all the time. its not like the worlds best keep secret. We should be fined for letting them win, because that @#%$ was atrocious. When the other team just gives up because they dream job Center who never was cant play, and the golden boy roy cant move worth a damn anymore, i think it does become a joke, but the joke isnt Smith and the goggles.
i believe its this team, and the scrambling they continue to go through with in trying to band aid this seas together again.
