What the hell, David Stern, seriously. How could Love make it and not LMA? It really is just about the stats these days.

Love, Duncan, Gasol and Griffin over Aldridge is just plan and simple an injustice, But I can't say I'm surprised and I think most of the people on this board are to blame. If you want to show your support for Aldridge as an all-star then maybe you should get off your lazy arz and vote the dude in. Man, I know if all the true Blazer fans would have did what I do every year when one of our boys is playing at an All-Star level and stuff the ballets like we did when Clyde, Terry and Duck made it, We wouldn't be having this discussion right now would we. get out there and vote your arses off next year if he or Roy deserve it.

overspeculated cocky douche bag like blake "mr potato head " griffin

These are the type of statements that prove my point as to "why blake should go"
Because alot of people here soom to get Opinions confused with facts, and god forbid anyone tell them different.
Blake may be that to you, but to the other like 49 states he is being televised on, they might think different.
And the All star Voting should pretty much shut this argument up.

Herr: Honestly Deron Williams is not being praised this year for his involvement in last years ASG.
The reason he is being praised, is because early in the season there were a handful of PG's that took over the game and never looked back.
On several occasions there were talks of "who is the best PG in the NBA?"
Nash. Rondo, Rose, Westbrook, Paul, Williams. These guys have owned every second of the season this year.
That is why he receives praise.
And further more, Aldridge isnt on this team to improve his resume, which is what the ASG seems to do to players, according to you. Its totally irrelevant to anything having to do with "This Season" or "the Trailblazers."
We're not complaining about Aldridge not making it, we're complaining that he was basically robbed, and anyone with any NBA IQ would know Aldridge deserves to be there
Dude....... no....just no..... Its still complaining about Aldridge not making it, as much as you want to try and sugar coat it. This has escalated into something Beyond even Aldridge himself, if its more important to the fans than it is to one of its players.......wow.....drop it....

@ Rip City Vice: hah, over reacting? i believe thats an understatement in your case.
If the ASG positions were awarded based on " a Single players contributions to their team" then yes, aldridge would be there, and would deserve to be there. BUT THATS NOT HOW IT WORKS!!!!!
I wish it did though! I wish the Rookie of the Year qualifications were that way! Because then DeMarcus Cousins would have a better shot at winning it. BUT THATS NOT HOW IT WORKS!!!
So for Aldridge he's standin there : 5 years in, career high 40 pt game "yay...woo hoo."
And then there is blake standin there: 1st year in, career high, 40+ point game "yay woo HOO!"
I mean that fact that Blake is a Rookie and he is dominating the league in the manner he is, out weighs any accomplishment Aldridge has made this year as far as comparing the two players go.

Roy is only a 3 time all star but its okay......its your team right....

As far as making a fool of himself, you obviously didnt read what i had said, so i dont know why i am reading yours but..... i dont believe that joe johnson had any prior evidence to show that he would do terrible in the game....yet he did!.....so???? maybe not so literal next time.
In case you haven't noticed, refs love to treat the young budding players who are high draft picks like they're all-stars.

No i have not noticed this, however i did note that, whenever or wherever there is one guyu breaking out, doing better than the rest, there are usually a group of haters that come up with reasons as to why he is so successful. Most reasons include discrediting any "natural skill" involved....... but just because you have been a second rate point guard in the the NBA for 13 seasons, doesnt mean that your logic is totally sound either....

The simple fact of the matter is, the fans want Aldridge in the ASG more than he does, and i dont think that how it should be.
The fact is, the fact i have made several times. Is that Aldridge took TOO long to get started.
Why is he just now dominating? Why not two seasons ago? The coaches, they look at that.
They also look at how Kevin Love and Blake Griffin, two guys who havent been here as long as Aldridge has, who are just ripping it up.
For Kevin Love to Out -Play D. Howard for rebounding leader. That says something.
Blake Griffin a rookie with 41 straight double dubs, single handedly saving a franchise while creating nation wide highlight tapes, i mean what is it that you dont see here?

Because i see Aldridge, i see him playing well, i see him helping the team out alot.
But i just see those guys playing better. And if that Makes me a Band Wagon Hoping Super Star Fan who has little to no Basketball I.Q.........then just remember why people dont remember Oregon when it comes to sports.
Step outside of the room that is filled with Blazer Ego, open the window or something, and look at it from an outsider point of view to try and understand....and if you cant do that, then drop it.

LOL... Simply put... LOSING RECORDS... You like to point out falsehoods.. so.. for the sake of not wasting more time than you are worth.. I'll point out one comment of yours..

"single handedly saving a franchise while creating nation wide highlight tapes, i mean what is it that you dont see here?"

To answer your question... i don't see him "single handedly saving a franchise".... I DO see him not creating.. but GETTING a lot of nation wide highlight tapes.. when you have the Sarah Palin equivalent to the NBA in Charles Barkley Singing your name from Mount TNT..... well... just look at this "TRAVISTY?!?!?!!!!"<
so.. back to that simple uneducated question of yours... something about saving a franchise to a total of 3 road wins.. or 13/15 rankings in the Western Conference.. I guess that's all it takes to impress a bandwagoner like yourself undoubtedly.

look at the rest of the all-stars.. ALL FROM WINNING TEAMS...... and then you have those two losers... If you are on a losing team.. the title fits.  People, not unlike yourself would attempt to justify him.. and his crappy team.. Yet, they aren't the only people in the NBA to have played for/with a crappy team and get a selection to the ALL-STARS.. the difference is.. that other person was LeBron James.. and that then crappy team.. was a not so crappy contender in the Playoffs.  These two oafs will dream about the playoffs likely for the next couple of years..

One more time.. to spell it out for ya... again.. i'm only answering one little thing, of the many inaccuracies in your blog..... Nobody.. especially the kid that LMA has schooled a couple times this year.. is "single handedly saving a franchise".. even with a little help from a guy bandwagoners don't know.. Eric Gordon.

    3 road wins.... some All-Star..

Remember that Love has a reality tv show  called "24 hrs with Kevin Love" and you think this didn't figure into David Sterns reasoning - ha!!!!

Stern is the biggest promoter of the nba brand (a brand which is fast becoming more about individuals rather than teams) and his neo-liberal exploitive methods are sickening.

He picks love because he is selling love.
Love is an object, a product that fits with the narrative he is telling about the nba.
A story that's says 'yeah you're on the worst team in the west but, since you come out and play hard and do the non flashy boring work of a "rebounder" you fit into my story of the NBA and you should get some recognition.'

Fine, but this comes at the expense of the same type of player in a similar small market with a better record and a better head to head match up. LA has owned Love and the blazer TEAM has owned the Twolves. All in all sterns cares not about the ACTUAL GAME - HE CARES MORE ABOUT THE PRODUCT, ANY PRODUCT, HIS JUST HAPPENS TO BE BASKETBALL.

Anyway, we can all say, a phrase we blazer fans are apt to repeat, "NEXT YEAR" - "THERE IS ALWAYS NEXT YEAR WHEN WE WILL PROVE PORTLAND IS AWESOME"

@TayC, usually I'm not one to get into things like this, but since I'm talking to a non-Blazer fan and I'm someone who bleeds Blazer red, I think I will. The only reason you think we're overreacting is because we as a city and franchise got snubbed twice, and that the more deserving players got in and we failed to realize that.
In the end, I don't have that big a problem with Blake Griffin in the game. Not much at all. It's when you give a lifetime achievement award to Tim Duncan during his worst statistical year. (Isn't that what the Naismith hall of fame is for?) Yes he is one of the greatest PF's of all time, but that's mostly in the history books now. Pau Gasol and Kevin Love's selections both raise eyebrows as that Pau's not really at an All-Star level, and Kevin Love is on the second worst team in the NBA. There's a reason Kevin gets his numbers, and it's because he's barely got anyone around him on his team. They still lose.
LaMarcus has dealt with a depleted roster, and consistently put up numbers.
Your argument against the young talent being treated by the refs makes no sense at all. Just because we have a veteran PG, doesn't mean the logic is totally sound? The logic in that sentence is nonexistent. Plus if you don't believe me about the treatment, watch games. The players who the NBA sees as potential money-makers will get the bulk of the calls and no-calls.
For Kevin Love to outplay Dwight Howard? Excuse me, but LA has outplayed Kevin Love, Blake Griffin, Dwight Howard, AND Tim Duncan.
By the way, I said Roy has been to the All-Star WEEKEND four times. You're right in that he's been in the GAME three times, but his first year he was in the Rookie-Soph game. You can look it up.
He took too long to get started? Kevin Love didn't look too good last season. LaMarcus has translated into numbers AND wins.
The highlight tapes are the reason Griffin is in there. I don't have a problem with Griffin being in the Game.
Joe Johnson was having the best year of his career that year, no doubt. He just found an off-day.
You can say what you want since you are an outsider, but I'm stickin to the facts.
This city is proud of this team even though it's gotten snubbed twice now. I don't see that going away anytime soon. We just know that the NBA offices made a big mistake.
    I rest my case.

Well, for what it's worth, Steve Kerr wanted to see Lamarcus on the All-Star team.
