Well, I use league pass so I hear whoever the broadcasters the league pass sets them up as.  Tonight was the Cavs.

During tonight's telecast, they kept saying "will this game be the end of the streak!?", and tried to give themselves hope by saying the Blazers have lost 7 of their last 8.

    What?

Portland was on a 5 game winning streak, snapped by Sacramento.  They then lost to Boston (that's 2 loses).  Beat San Antonio (lost 2 of their last 3).  Lost to Denver and then to Indiana.  That's losing 4 of their last 5, and winning 6 of their last 10.  How does 6-4 = 1-8?

David Stern is indeed lurking behind the big curtain.  And no, he's not going to hand out awesome trinkets to the Blazers if we yank it down.  I really hate feeling like it's Portland against the world but almost every time I hear other commentators around the league or read sports articles I want to scratch my eyes out.  I've been watching Portland for over twenty years and that's been pretty much the one constant surrounding the Trailblazer organization.

We need to swell the City of Portland to three times it's size and add an inferior NBA expansion team to Oregon before the Blazers start getting any type of substantial recognition.  That or sweep Miama in the finals next season.  Either way should do it.

    Huh?

Honestly, when it comes to other teams broadcasters, all I hear is good recognition for the Blazers.  This league, and it's intelligent fans (about 1% of the entire fanbase), know the Blazers have potential to be a great team.  The other team broadcasters are normally very verbal about their thoughts on the Blazers, most/all is very good.  Even Boston's have said some nice things, and those two are the most biased in the entire league.

However, same can't be said about the TNT/ESPN/ABC crews. . .

I should have been more specific.  Portland rarely gets respect from anybody who matters in sports broadcasting.  Even Barkley's endorsement of Aldridge seemed begrudging.  They get the standard "Aldridge has really stepped up his game in the absence of Roy," which is undeniable.

"Most underrated guard in the league right there," (a sentiment with which I mostly agree) after Miller hits a jump shot.  "He's leadin' the team that has NO one and they're still winnin' these games!"  That was the voiceover for the NBA.com highlight video of Portland beating the Spurs.  That's what people see.  That's what people hear.  Two hundred thousand people watched that video and that's a big part of why this team, Aldridge/Batum/Matthews in particular get very little recognition from NBA fans and management.

It really has been like this for as long as I've been watching the Blazers.  Hell, even when Drexler and Porter ran the show it was the same.  I'm not sure how old you are, and I'm only 30 but I vividly remember Drexler dominating the '93 all star game and watching him walk by with a little smirk in the background as Magic Johnson was getting interviewed after winning the MVP.

I will give credit to some of the NBA fans out there.  I usually read the message boards of opposing teams during Blazer games.  There's a lot of, "Omg who is this Batum guy and how can we get him," and "Aldridge is just a beast."  The hardcore basketball fans are a pretty discerning group but when it comes to the average NBA follower, the perception of the talking heads is reality and it's unfortunate the talking heads rarely like to give credit where credit is due when it involves Portland.

Not meaning to be contentious.  This is just something I've been watching for virtually all of my life so it's a bit of a goat for me lol.

Can someone please tell me where the sign is that says " in portland our $#!% dont stink!?

like where does this franchise hold the credit to make an accusation like this?

If the NBA was the face of a clock, the portland trailblazers would take up all of two seconds on that , i dont understand where this image of a Pius team and Glorified Franchise comes from.
All i know is that Laker fans may not even watch the games and only like the logo, but at least they have nicer things to say than the lot of you.

like do ya'll just wake up mad there?

Eh, all minutes on the face of a clock have equal value.  Blazers, on the other hand, are a better team and stronger franchise than many teams in the league.  Just kinda', ya know, true.  As to the Laker fans lol, are you sure you've been to the Internet?

You say some silly things my friend.  I may be new to posting on these boards but I can already tell we're going to get along famously!

I have to agree with Herr's comment's about other broadcasters being pretty fair with the Blazers. That said,
I think if this Organization want's more respect (popularity) from the Basketball world (what ever that means), we need to get out of the first round, maybe go deep into the playoffs by upsetting a 1 seed ( like golden state against dallas), have players known for other things other than blown out knees, and just up the general scoring and excitement. This league and most of it's fans want entertainment and wins and this is what gets a team buzz around it and we, in my honest opinion, are kinda of a boring team in general. Boring doesn't really lead others to praise you that much in todays world.

OMG finally people are starting to get respect for the Blazers! WOW!!! No. I've been saying this since the beginning of the year and all I hear on this site are how much disrespect we get along the league... you guys really just started to figure this out??? The blazers don't get disrespected at all, and no Herr, there are plenty of intelligent fans out there, you just gotta be able to listen to them
