Even in times of celebration of a great trade, there are always pieces of the puzzle that you must deal away. Joel Przybilla was the longest tenured Trail Blazer and showed a tremendous amount of loyalty when he signed with us as a free agent over offers from the Spurs and Pistons (the 2 Finals participants that year in 2005). Przybilla was a warrior and never took any crap from anyone. He stood up for his teammates at all costs and will be severely missed both on and off the court. I truly hope his contract is bought out and he's able to return to Rip City, but if that's not the case then, thank you for everything Joel. I will never forget those moments where you stood up to Tyson Chandler and Carlos Boozer. It truly is an end of an era.

Loved Joel but he was starting to be much less effective... really loved what Dante was doing - that is tough to lose him... but hopefully Wallace is a bigger force.

I was always excited to see Joel play because I knew that no one would get away with anything.  Even Shack showed him props when Shack realized Joel wouldn't back down to him.  I always hoped that someday I would get to meet Joel and tell him what a great person he is.  His wife is beautiful and there son is going to be a lady killer.  I am always a fan of players that play with passion, pride, and loyalty, and Joel has all of those things.  I hope we get you back!

Joel...I have been a big fan from day 1 and I think the Blazers have (once again!) made a big mistake by trading you.  You have been loyal, hardworking, tough when needed with a work ethic that should be emulated by every NBA player.  You have honesty, integrity and humility...a rare combination in professional sports.  I wish you every success and if there is a real chance of a buyout from the Bobcats, I would LOVE to see you back in a Blazer uniform.  I can honestly say that you have always done us proud in Portland...I wish management had treated you with the consideration you truly deserved.  Best of luck to you, your wife and the boys!

You will be missed Joel...I loved watching you play, get those blocks, stand up to the other guys and helping your team.  I hope you can return as well.  We only have one center????  How much sense does that make????

If, God forbid, you aren't able to rejoin the team, you will be sorely missed. You've been a pillar of this franchise. A fighter. A true professional.
Should Charlotte choose to play you, we know how much you will stand tall and show what you're made of.
Thanks Joel, and nothing but the best to you and your family.

I tuned out the blazers during the jailblazer era. I did not get back involved until the season before we got Oden. I saw Joel kick it it up a notch trying to win his starting position back. He cant make a shot outside 5 feet, but you try to get past his 10 foot perimeter that he is guarding and you were in for a fight. I think if his recovery had been a little faster we might have hesitated on pulling the trigger on this deal. Either way I sure will miss him and his bullit head.

This city is going to miss you so much Joel.  I have admired you for many reasons and one of them was the fact that you always stuck up for the other guys whenever the opposing team was playing dirty.  You never backed down and you always had their back.  It would be fantastic if you are able to return.  But if not, you will always be in the hearts of Blazer fans and an important part of Rip City.  I wish great things for you on your journey, wherever it takes you.

I am a huge fan of Joel, and in previous messages I wished the Blazers not ever to come close to the playoffs because of the trade.  After a few days of calming down I retract that statement and sincerely apologize.  I am not proud of the Blazers for making this trade, and no I still won't be a fan of wallace, but I do love the Blazers, and wish them all the luck in the world.  Hopefully Joel will be back wearing the jersey he was born to wear in 30 days!

Through tuning in and buying tix/merchandise we helped him earn tens of millions of dollars for playing a game he loves. Don't be so emotional about athletes coming and going. Living in Charlotte for a few months while cashing a $7 mil check ain't bad. Be proud of your organization aggressively trying to be improve. And why would you not like Wallace because of this? You think he traded himself? You'll learn to love him, he is cited as one of the very hardest working players in the league, and his presence will translate into WINS (that's what I like to see my teams do, win...ALOT). If this was the NFL where contracts are not guaranteed, Joel would have been cut as soon as he got hurt. Portlanders are too damn sentimental.

We all miss your huge presence you gave us when we sorely lacked a good big man to play along our more skilled and less defensively oriented big man. We all loved you Pryzbilla the Vanilla Thrilla. It is sad to say but we must move on and accomplish bigger things, we had a necessity and you were an extra piece we really didn't need with the improved Aldridge offensively and defensively and Camby coming back and potentially Oden next year. Wish you best of luck and that you may be a Blazer again one day, sooner than later(buy out his contract CHARLOTTE!!). But until then no words can describe what you have meant to this team and city, we thank you for all your moments of courage and leadership when no one else would stand up. Loved those moments when you stood up to the so-called "superstars" in this league. I will see you tonight at the game, once again best of luck and best wishes to you and your family.

Oh Joel!  I hate to see you go!  You brought me a lot of smiles.  I loved it when you stood up to the big boys in the league.  That's when I realized your potential, and forbid anyone should go after a teammate...they were dead to you and you let them know it.  I never saw you back down to anyone.
I was so very sad when I learned you were leaving us.  I hope someday you will be back in some capacity.  You are among the few Blazers that I will ALWAYS remember. Be happy!

Joel you will be missed! My Przy jersey is going retro now! The toughness and heart you brought to this team was immeasurable. Without you this young trailblazers team would have stayed at the bottom with the jail blazers. But your tenacity and fierce 'no crap' play took us up to the contender we are today. Hoping you make it back here!
    Much Love!

Good to see Joel again.  The ultimate lunch-pail, working class guy.  I called him "Joel the Center" in 2008, but unlike "Joe the Plumber," Joel was the real deal.  Doing the dirty work, backing down to no one.  I don't argue with the strategy of getting something out of an expiring contract, but that's no knock on Pryzbilla.  I know your family is in the Great Lakes area, Joel, but if you can talk them into milder winters, transplant them back to P-town.  We'll make a home for you and yours here.

Joel played his best game of the season against the Lakers. This was his last game for us. He was showing signs of the old Joel. It was sad to see him go but in this business, that's the way it goes. Now we don't have much in the middle. Canby is too old, and his play will be limited. This will most likely back-fire on Portland. Not having a solid presence in the middle will be a big problem against the better teams. Portland's biggest problem all season has been lack of defense. Now with a gimpy center it will only get worse. Frankly, the trade makes no sense to me. We go out and get another power forward. LA must be wondering if his time is up here.
