Prior to Thursday’s Trail Blazers-Grizzlies game, Memphis coach Lionel Hollins — the former Blazer guard whose No. 14 jersey hangs in the rafters at the Rose Garden — weighed in on Nate McMillan’s firing.

“I could see it coming,” Hollins said. “I thought once the public statements by Raymond Felton (about McMillan) were made, something had to give. Usually the coach is the one who is sacrificed.”

Hollins served three times as an interim coach in the Grizzlies organization before getting a full season, so he emphathizes with Portland’s Kaleb Canales.

“In Kaleb’s case, it’s really a tough situation,” Hollins said. “They’ve had a system ingrained here for seven years. When I took over in Vancouver, (predecessor Brian Hill) had only been there two years. I was able to change a lot of things right off the bat, and nobody thought anything about it.

“There are a lot of guys here who have been playing a certain style in a certain structure. I don’t know if everything needs to be changed, but every coach has a style they want to implement when they’re in charge.”

Hollins offered this advice to Canales and the Blazers:

“Hopefully, they are getting integrated really quickly and driving it home with a sledgehammer every day. Don’t wait, just put it in. No matter when you do it, it has to be done with some pain.”

I am a fan of WES, the heart and soul of the Blazers.

I don't recall what public statements Felton made? It's been a little hush-hush around here, since the Blazers front office started launching heavy artillery. FIND COVER! INCOMING!!!

I am a fan of multiple All-Stars on the Blazers roster this season!

The Blazers were winning!  That is the key word, were.  Blazers are living proof that you can live and die by the jumper.  Lately it has been dying.

Hawes will be a hot commodity by the trade deadline, I would think the sixers could find a better offer.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...

Yeah and now Blazers have zero interest in Bynum. I really thought he was worth the small risk. If anything he would be at the end of our bench and we use him as a sub. Hopefully we do make some type of trade for a quality back up center. Right no...
