Which Blazer are you wanting to watch the most this year? The obvious choices are probably Damian Lillard, because we Blazer fans are the ones who truly know what to expect from him, and Nicolas Batum ,with his new contract, but I'm challenging you all to pick someone else. I couldn't decide between two, so I have both Wesley Matthews and Joel Freeland. First, I brought up Wesley because he is now the one and only true starter at SG with Roy and Crawford gone, but also because I have heard so much about the progess he made this year athletically and might not be the one dementional shooter we've seen. I also picked Joel Freeland. Watching a few of his games in the Olympics, as well as what I have heard about him from the media. I really think he is going to turn some heads this year, and I think will develop into someone like Spencer Hawes for us. Also,  if he makes the roster, I think we might get a little something from Adam Morrison... So what do you think?

My 5 picks are Freeland, Leonard, Nolan, Barton and Claver.

Freeland - He reminds me of Nick Collison, I can't wait to see his low post skills and his outside touch I really think he gonna be one of the standouts this year.

Leonard - I'm excited to see the passion and intensity he play with it's gonna be a tough year for him but, I know he's up to it and I curious to see how he's offensive and Defensive game grows.

Nolan - We seen a taste of the new aggressive Nolan but, we all know that summer league and the NBA are two different beast will he keep his aggressiveness and confidence when things are rough and will he use his aggressiveness to just get his own or can he get others involved.

Barton - I'm really interested in Barton, I love his attitude he really cares about the team success I really believe he can be that player that does everything for us I called him our "Swiss Army Knife" the thing I'm watching is can and will he crack the rotation.

Claver - Spain hasn't been kind to us in the draft but, as they say third time a charm he seem like one of those active athletic players that flies in and gets rebound and put backs if he can improve his shot I see him getting some time if Babbitt not getting the job done. I think it will take another year before he cracks the rotation and I wouldn't be surprised if he's in the dunk contest.

After Lillard, 'The Thrill' and Leonard, and in that order.

As long as Stotts doesn't pull a Nate and bench all the newbies during all meaningful playing time, I'm excited to see Barton first and foremost. Nolan's second year is going to make everyone say, "where was this kid last year?!"

I'd agree with BDawg about Leonard, except I think (even with his leaping ability) he won't be as exciting as he will be a work-horse type of player. I think he'll affect the paint with his defense, pull down rebounds, and get players open with some good picks, but I don't think there will be a lot of "exciting" play out of him. Which is honestly fine with me; I prefer the 5 to be someone who affects the game without grabbing tons of attention, Kendrick Perkins style.

I'm excited to see all of the new rookies like most folks but my clear favorite to see this season is Wesley Mathews. I think he's going to have a breakout year being pain free for the first time in his NBA career and with the new coaching staff I think he may contend for most improved player in the league. JJ Hickson would be a close second for returning players. Nic and LA I feel I already know what they're capable of. Ronnie Price will be my favorite new vet to watch. I feel he's vastly underrated by most fans.

Lillard. I hate to say it since I feel it's so cliche as this point in time, but after what I saw at Summer League, I can't help but think he's only scratching the surface. We haven't had a legit PG since Porter. That's nearly 20 years! I know what to expect from LA, Nic and Wes so there's not as much excitement there. I usually get excited to watch the newer players and unknowns. Hopefully Adam Morrison makes the roster because I want to see if there's any of that lottery talent left. If he can be a boost off the bench for us, that could be huge!

Morrison looked great in summer league but in Blazer interviews and even practice clips he seems lethargic and almost bored. Not sure I'd like him more than Sasha or even Luke and I have to say Luke is looking sharp in scrimmages. Luke was my player to scratch but he may prove me wrong and I hope he does. Sasha is the best defender of the three and not old, extremely experienced and has a complete game.

i just want to see everyone gel and play as a team. id rather cheer for wins and solid basketball play than any individual effort. I think a lot of the guys on this team feel the same way, at least i hope they do.

but preaching aside im excited to see wesley step it up, D lil shine, LA make a more commanding all star appearance, JJ demand some attention, leonard and freeland take over the paint, batum to start being a leader and playing with some emotion, barton to attack, and nolan to show off what he can do at some backup 2 guard with his new silky smooth jumper.

Morrison is definitely soft spoken, but if he makes the team and get some minutes, there will definitely be some hype for the Blazers if he gets it going. Hope he makes the roster. Will definitely follow the blazers way closer. AMMO is the man!
