So, I'm rooting for the Heat obviously, but everyone I try to talk to here in Oregon, they want the Mavericks to win.  Really?  Why the hell would anyone want that?

First, I understand people don't like LeBron, but why is he so hated?  His move proved to work - they're in the final and beat the 2 other contenders convincingly in the East.  He might like to shout and scream after an impressive dunk, but who doesn't do showboating?  Does no one have a problem with Tyson Chandler pumping his chest after he gets fouled?  Does no one have a problem with Jason Terry constantly trying to get the crowd pumped up, and does his JET move all the time?  Is LeBron so much worse that people look past that?

So I ask, why would anyone want the Mavericks to win, especially if they're Blazer fans.

Here's why I want them to lose.  I'd seriously rather have the Lakers win another title than having Dirk and the Mavs ever win a title.

First - Jason Terry is the definition of the "B-word".  He has bashed Portland twice in the playoffs.  Anyone that's a better cheerleader than a player doesn't deserve to be on the court.  He's constantly trying to get the crowd pumped up, and his move on Steve Blake (as much as I dislike Blake for becoming a Laker) was incredibly pathetic.  Not to mention his JET move is annoying as hell.  He also talks a ton of crap for never winning a championship.  He even got a tattoo of the Championship on his bicep.  He also has said that his (dallas') crowd is better than Portland's crowd.  Seeing how HORRIBLE the Dallas crowd has been in the playoffs, and how much they didn't believe in their team at the start of the playoffs, I take that as a heavy insult to us Blazer fans that have red and black blood, sweat, and tears.  He's not complimenting his crowd, he's not trash talking, he's simply insulting us as fans.  You really want this guy winning a championship?  He also said recently that Portland had better defense than the Heat.  We all know this isn't true.  I take this as an insult because he's trying to use us as a scapegoat, and that gets the media talking about what Portland did wrong in the playoffs.  You really want this queen getting a ring because LeBron made a decision, a decision to move teams that is being treated as the biggest crime in the NBA despite Gilbert Arenas literally screwing over Washington and JR Smith killing his friend for reckless driving.  Really Portland fans?  You want THIS guy to get a ring?

Another reason is Game 1 and Game 4.  After Game 1, Mark Cubans little dance, showboating, and trash talking to fans made me sick.  Especially after the 19-2 FT Discrepancy, in which he had no problem, but cussed in Sterns face after he lost in 2006 FAIR AND SQUARE.  After Game 4, in which he fled the Rose Garden after the Mavericks Collapsed, he stated to the NBA and the media of 2 "miss calls" (which happened to be right), trying to make excuses for the Mavs meltdown, and trying to take away credit for the Blazers win.

Another reason is Tyson Chandler.  Anyone happen to remember about a year and a half ago in which he played for the Hornets, and tried to attack Joel Pryzbilla's broken hand?  You want that punk getting a ring?  Who does that?  It was all because Joel was playing good defense on him.

Speaking of Tyson Chandler, Dirk Nowitzki, JJ Barea, and Jason Terry - LeBron, Wade, and Bosh are getting a lot of Heat (no pun intended) for "flopping".  How many times do we see these 4 do it?  Umm... maybe every possession?  How many times have you seen Dirk end up on the foul line, and viewed the replay and go "wow that's generous".  I know I've done it every time.  The Mavs are a bunch of softies, and the refs are buying it.  These games shouldn't be close, but the refs certainly are helping them keep it close because they're acting their way to a championship.

Last but not least - REMEMBER GAME 1.  The Blazers should have won that game, and Nate had a valid reason for complaining about the refs in that game.  Dirk ended up with more FTs than the entire Blazer team.  He also had those FTs ALL IN THE FOURTH.  The FT's were 19-2 in the 4th.  Dirk had 13.  The Blazers FTs were on a Rudy Fernandez lay in early in the quarter, and a technical foul on Marion when the game was decided.  The Mavs scored something like 28 for the quarter.  Yes, they had only 9 points off field goals.  Had the Blazers won Game 1, they would be up 3-1 after 4 games, and probably would have played with more passion in Game 6, and the Mavs with less.  With the way the Lakers played, Portland could have beat them too, and no doubt we could beat OKC.  The Miami Heat played their best game all season long against Portland, in Portland.  They barely won, and needed OT to do so, and a missed jumper by Andre Miller.  They then won somewhat recently in March or so in Miami.   Portland could beat Miami in a 7 game series.  That gives them the championship.  The Mavs are where the Blazers SHOULD be, and they only got passed Portland due to the horrible officiating.

So, you really want these morons to win, because you don't like LeBron?  I'd rather see the Lakers win.  Go HEAT!

couldnt agree more, i was rooting lakers and okc in teh dallas series with them, and i hate both those teams. my worst fear starting the playoffs was it would be miami dallas, and after watching dallas' play through the playoffs, i really want the heat to win. miami did some pretty lame stuff with the media this year, but i think they've learned from their mistakes. and i agree tyson chandler and dirk are the dirtiest wusses in the NBA, no way they would put up with the cheap shots they've been dishing to other teams.

they are not showboating when they hit their chest or scream after a dunk.
they are on a level that most of us will never reach nor understand, to be excited, to care that much, its just inapplicable for fans to understand, thats why it is easy to criticize.

like the jet move? really, at least its not as lame/ annoying as the goggles, you know?

like yo have invested alot of effort into this, and really its one thing to want your team avenged, or to not like another team, but this is like an unhealthy obsession. to go this far out of the way? like god forbid anyone who likes dallas read this and think of you as the anti christ..

Do you remember every little thing a player does? or just go excessively out of the way to key in on stupid/pointless scenarios in which you as a third part do not even understand the original context of?
Like do you remember when Brandon Roy was 5 and he bit that little boy on the monkey bars, why would anyone support a cannibalistic biter such as roy?

What you have demonstrated right here, is the epitome of a sore loser. not only have you failed to let go of your teams uttlery disgusting and horrible performance in round one, but you have provided so many intricate reasons for someone to hate the members of this Dallas team and yet not one of the reasons is pertinent to the game of basketball. Like if you hated a team because they shot too many three's, it would be understandable, but in your case, you might as well hate Dallas cos.......theyre blue!

But really what this has showed is that you are just as bad as the people out there who go out of their way to discredit LeBron, or hate on Kobe, and even as someone who wants Miami to win, you are seemingly hating Dallas because they are good....you should of just wrote that.

"Why would anyone want dallas to win?"
    "they're too good....yah?"

I agree with TayC people just need to get over that Dallas beat us. It's not Dallas fault or the officals fault that we couldn't rebound or hit the broad side of the barn we were just outgunned by a good team take the lost and move on. we should be wondering if we are going to have a GM or if we just going to be the same old team that has a good season but have another first round exit I'm not a fan of showboating but if I was as good as these guys I couldn't help but to showboat a little bit they earn the right and if you saying I wouldn't if I was that good your a damn lie. I admit I wanted someone to beat dallas but I got over it because they are a good team and I hope we can have a complete team because when we do we will be in the Finals but we are not good enough if we were we be playing in the Finals right now.

Agreed, let it go guys. It's not worth sulking over for what now...2 months? They beat us fair and square. We played them well defensively but they had the consistent offensive firepower and we didn't.

Why Dallas over Miami? Easy, they are doing it as a TEAM. They didn't go on record this summer predicting 9 titles or have some spectacle called "The Decision" where one of their players completely did his hometown team dirty. Plus, they have paid their dues. As a fan who hasn't won a title, I can respect a team like Dallas getting so close, so many times. Right now, I think its their time and I'm really happy for them. Dirk could have went anywhere this summer but he chose to man up, be the focal point of that team and he is now leading them deep into the Finals, something LeBron couldn't and chose not to do.

Okay, I'm going to hop in and give my two cents on this one.

I don't want the convergence of superstars to one team to be rewarded. Plain and simple.

Then there's the idea that basketball in general is not as entertaining to watch if an uber-talented player isn't on the court. Maybe it's just me but watching a Toronto/Minnesota game doesn't have the same appeal as a game with some serious star power in it.

Spread the love/talent and give the league some parity. Make the entire season entertaining with a race to the finish. Who do you think will win it this year? WHO KNOWS?!?

I don't care that Dallas beat us. I do care they are a dirty sack of sh*& that has had the refs help the whole playoffs. Even the commentators are going for the mavericks, van gundy couldn't shut his blabbing pie hole all night about them. These playoffs are so onesided. When you have te refs, commentator, and the so called president of the NBA on your side you can't lose. So I agree with Kerr, yeah maybe I hate the scumbag mavs, but its not because they are good, its because they are winning only because the refs are holding their hands. Even when they get the calls they still bitch. They deserve nothing. Dirk is not one of basketballs greatest, he is a sham, a player who is only as successful becausse he gets 20 freethrows a night, couresty of the refs. he is a cheap dirty player. I don't even want to to start on Terry. And Hawes, Lebron has helped lead the heat deep into the playoffs. I can appreciated that he is among the greatest players in the NBA, and has yet to win to a championship. Thats going to change. I know that you and all the others who are going for the mavs, are going to slam me for saying what I have said. Well you know what as much I and others hate the mavs, you hate the heat. So you we got our opinions out and you yours. May the best team (heat) win.

im with herr on this one , it should be the two hottest teams (pun intended)  facing off Blazers v. Heat & its a shame that a team that got beat by another actually roots for them because their representing their confrence , i really think it should be Our big three (ROY, L.A , Wallace) battling MIami's  but no one can predict the future right ? , and these playoffs have been Rediculous because the refs have given that klennex wielding softie dirk over 100 FTA's already, the mavs shouldnt win the Larry O'Brien championship  trophy they should win the trophy for best actors in the league so far , considering barea's flopping and dirks push , shove & fake heart attack routine are gaining them free foul shots, and @ Tay C , come on ; how can you say the "jet" move is less obnoxious than the 3-goggles , terry is annoying & the goggles dont provoke anyone on the court its just an expression of fun now the jet , that does provoke emotions which generally lead to technicals, and speaking of T's i think everytime terry tries to pump up the crowd he should get T'ed up because if carslile gets T'ed for disagreeing with a call then terry should get hit with the call for encouraging their horrible crowd. speaking of their crowd , their announcer sounds like a stupid robot , i think mark cuban should invest in a real person to get on the PA System . and the only 2 reasons the blazers lost are the following : Lack of High Percentage Shots , and heres the big one ! LACK OF BIG MEN IN THE PAINT ! , how do you expect to get boards over the overcompensated tough guy tyson chandler , believe me if pryzbilla was here he'd give tyson a taste of his own medicine & lets not forget about G.O he would've just dunked over tyson ;and lets just top it all off with what that stupid amateur brian cardinal did to mills , that was a dirty move especially when someone is like 2 feet shorter and isnt even paying attention , what if mills got hurt ? we lose another player to injury. even though i might sound dumb for saying this and everyone might bash me for rooting for them i say lets go heat , a superstar like lebron deserves a ring after all this time and Nowitski ? well how bout they wait another decade before even thinking about a championship.

    Do they have class?
andre miller blowing his streak just to get back at blake griffin because he is dominating?? thats classy.
I mean Patty mills is out on the street and on itunes more than he is on the court and some of you really think he can be the point guard of the future for this team.... come on.......
im just saying, every team has its rips, its just easier to hate players like lebron and wade because they are better than you own favorite players and everyone wants to have at least one bad guy to hate....weird idk why.....
I don't want the convergence of superstars to one team to be rewarded. Plain and simple.
As for superstars stacking, please keep in mind you own roster before you make another statement such as......
this team not only traded pryzbilla , a guy who played hard and was loved by this team, but gerald wallace came in and in the first minutes in portland he was more accepted and welcomed than James Cameron at his own Avatar Party.......
Like whats the d with that?
Like for this franchise and its history, might be one of the few teams where it was ONE GUY who really won a championship for his team, and his son plays in Los Angeles....... But look at Larry Bird, he won with Kevin MChale, Robert Parrish, Danny Ainge....not alone, Kobe and Shaq, look at pre Kobe, Magic , James Worthy , Kareem all together, winning rings and retiring jersey together, MJ, Pippen , Rodmann, i mean cmon just because LeBron James has super human abilities that cannot be rivaled by any player in the league, doesnt mean he doesnt deserve to win a ring with a friend? like really......

Like read every post in this thread and you will see that, the Blazers are made out to be a simple, humble, Hansel and Gretal little team that is lost in the woods of the corrupt and unfair woods of the NBA and its officiating.
And there are Scary, MVP - like championship contending teams out there that use unfair advantages of not only gathering good players together but because they play better than Portland, they use dark voodoo magic.

Herr, i wasnt necessarily calling you names more than youre post names, so i apologize if i offended you, but really you are better than that , to be a hater........

some people need to WAKE UP and lean a little bit closer too see the roses really smell like.....
