I think Neil will do certain things.  First he will try to get a defensive center for around 12Mil.  Then he will  try to move up in the draft using his three second rounders and the #10 pick.  He will use the new draft pick to draft the best player available.  Hopefully this choice will be Olapado.   Our core group would stay together and the bench would be  better.

Always the optimist meese.  Last year, his first year with the organization, all Olshey did was win draft day for the Blazers.  Before that?  Came from a rebuilt Clipper team, how much of which he deserves credit has been debated.  The man is batting 1.000, now let's hope a mistake is made and he gets a good look at a fastball.  I'm optimistic.

Have you guys seen Meyers Leonard!!!!!

    http://instagram.com/p/Z1xaE6QQpi/

    This dude is looking RIPPED!!!

Very happy with what Meyers has been doing this offseason. I was VERY let down this season, but now I get it when people say he is only 21 and he will get better.

I am not putting my hope with him this season like I did last but I have HOPE for Meyers!! I still dont think his game can be of a Championship Center. But if he comes into the season with some Strength, toughness and some basketball IQ, I will say he was the correct choice for 11.

Come on Meyers! Please show your getting it together on the defensive side of the game!!

meese is a hater of magnanimous proportion. If i didnt know any better, id think he was Kobe. But i guess thats what makes him unique. Certainly different than a great many band wagoneers who dont really have an opinion, just wishes. I appreciate ya Bro, even if you're outside of your mind.Siccolo is his polar opposite. Hell, damned there bi-polar with his switch up technique. I atrribute that to his enthusiastic youthful optimism. Its refreshing. At the end of the day we all want the same thing..competition. Put a squad together that can compete. We all enjoy the seemingly insurmountable comebacks, but good lawwd im waiting for the day when we are a respectable contender. Prepared for by coaches, and respected by teams. Olshey deserves an opportunity to do for us what he did for the Clips. They were laughable back in the day, today, bring your A game when you see them. Given the resources, that boy is going to make us relevant. Give him a shot. Two more years minimum. Then we'll revisit these old post and and either toot our own horns, or say i told you so.

Meyers looks like he is adding muscle. With his size he now needs to develop his skill. Strength and athleticism is great but they are oly worth something if used correctly. Meyers looks ripped, but can he hold his position in the block? Can he back his down in the post? Can he rotate and help on the weak side? I still feel we need a defensive mentor for him and LA to help them on that side of the ball.

Meyers can be a beast. He can run the floor and has the length to get easy buckets when he gets into the paint. If he can play 20mins a night and give us 8pt and 6,5reb I could live with that. But he would need to shoot about 55-60% from the field.

Agree CP^...but would add one more thing.  From what I saw of Leonard this last season, I would like to see the young man develop some mental toughness to go with that tough looking physique.  FAR too often, with the opposition coming at him and attacking the rim with the rock, Meyers would turn his body as if afraid of contact.  The result is a tweet from the mouth of an official, and possibly even and "and 1".  This team, as we ALL know, needs desperately a feared rim protector.  Meyers seems to have addressed the physical, now let's look at the mental.

Meyers can get as buff as he wants but if the dude is still afraid to put some on their back for coming into his paint then it is worthless.

He needs to add some serious toughness and spend hours working in the paint on his post moves and defense.

We need to get someone to come into the paint on Leonard wearing a padded suit so can practice blasting people.

My suggestion to Meyers is to take a boxing class, for real. That would get him used to taking punches and having to be aggressive.

It is too early to give up on Meyers.  Maybe it would be a good thing to get Jermaine O'neal to mentor Meyers in the art of defense.  As I recall O'neal was good on defense.  O'neal could play 15 to 18 minutes a game and Meyers would share the center position with someone else for the balance of time.  Who that someone else would be is up for debate.  LO could help or we could try to move up in the draft to number 13 and draft a future center/power forward.

    What do you think about a bench with J. Farmar/A. Morrow or Barton/ R. Brewer or Claver/ E. Brand/ M. Leonard or J. O´Neal ?

I think this would be a very balanced bench.

But the main problem remains who can we get to be our starting Center?

Using our 10 pick, the three secound rounders and the rights to K. Papanikolaou.

I can only see some Centers tradeable for this: Gortat, Varejao, Hawes, Mcgee or Robin Lopez. I think N. Olshey will get us a decent Center, my favourite of the above is Mcgee... that would be a good fit along this other signings: Farmar, Morrow, Brewer, Brand and O´Neal. I thnk this is doable if we can trade Freeland away, and use our caproom+room exception wisely.

I wouldn't have a problem w/ Jordan if his ft% was much better & if he played to the potential that every1 has envisioned for him.  Given his age, athleticism, strength, etc. he should b dominant for the entire time he's on the floor; what ends up happening is that he's dominant here & there in games (& then only a handful of games is he the player we think he can b) & then he's always pulled in the 4th bc he's a ft/game losing liability.  He is very good @ coordinating teammates/w them on D though ;)

I like Lopez & McGee; I'm not gonna get much into why about McGee (in the past I went into some detail about him ;)  I'm a fan of Lopez bc he's 1 of the cheaper to medium priced options that we have that can make for a good impact.  I also ACTUALLY like the fact that Lopez is pretty much the player u r gonna get; he's pretty much @ his ceiling; this is good bc I STILL believe in Meyers as our franchise 5 & if Lopez was super awesome & soaked up a ton of $/burn... how could we pay/play Meyers?  Lopez will b good for Meyers in practice too.  He's 25 so he can b w/ the team for a while & if he doesn't work out, he'll still b young/useful enough to some1 else to trade.  The BIGGEST things I like about him r that he's got some offensive game (we don't need a center that is an offensive machine BUT we need 1 that keeps opponents honest) AND that INCLUDES ft (rarity w/ bigs & WE would have TWO 5's that can knock 'em down! :)

    @ Simpson :)

Im not gonna say that Meyers is ready to be our center of our future YET. The man is still a is a terrible defender and rebounder. I still dont like him shooting 3!!!!! Lol... He has the body for an elite center but he still has a long way to go. Agree with him needing to add Toughness and maybe pick up Boxing

I think Meyers needs some instruction on aggressiveness and the art of position.  Some tapes on Moses Malone could be very instructive.  When you use your body as an instrument to achieve position is critical to a center accomplishing major rebound numbers.  We are straying from the original question "What will Neil do".  Meyers development could play a major role in determining what Neil will do.

How about this bruiser right here. Heres what David Aldridge had to say about him......

Adams blocked more than two shots a game for the Panthers. "He's big and strong, he's reasonably athletic, he is very physical," a Pacific Division scout said. "If this league can draft Daniel Orton in the first round, you can draft Steven Adams in the first round. I thought he was a first-round candidate when I saw him play against Georgetown a few months ago. I thought he was very aggressive and physical. He doesn't mind hitting people and he doesn't mind being hit. He's a big guy. He's got big hands. (But) he's not a skilled player."

And, Jonathan Giveny of Draft Express: Where Adams looks much closer to being able to contribute to a NBA team is on the defensive end. His quickness and overall mobility is extremely impressive for a player his size, and allows him to make a significant impact on this side of the floor, particularly on the pick and roll. Adams can step out on screens and recover very effectively, even being able to switch out on guards at times and not look entirely uncomfortable. He'll get beat off the dribble at times, but is athletic enough to recover and still make a play at the rim, showing very good instincts as a shot-blocker. Adams seems to have good potential as a rim-protector, already rejecting 3.7 blocks per-40 as a freshman, which ranks fifth among collegiate top-100 prospects.
