Portland needs a true center off the bench. Freeland is doing fine but I think we need have to decide whither we want Freeland or Trob at pf and use the other in a trade.
We do not have the proper assets to chase Asik and in my opinion I think Asik and Lopez are both starters and this could cause some conflict. I believe the best " backup" center in the league could be Hawes. A big physical rebounder that can play 15-20 mins a game. Chances are Phil would want to take another big salary off their books (Evan turner or Thadious Young). They would want young players with upside and players with expiring contracts to make room (22 mil over cap) - my idea of a trade http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=lpj89yp we could throw a 2nd round pick or we could give a 1st and they give us a second. Why would phili do this? Phili would be going from 22 mil over the cap to 18, yes it  is a big deal- and  mo Williams will opt out to and phili could chose to give him a bigger contract if they really wanted. They want a pf with upside to develop with Noel, and Barton could develops better in a run and gun system.

Hawes will be a hot commodity by the trade deadline, I would think the sixers could find a better offer.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we have a trade asset, he will be gone after next year anyway. And CJ is already playing better than Mo has.

Problem is PG's are a dime a dozen while big men are gold.

Chris Kaman could be an option

The Blazers were winning!  That is the key word, were.  Blazers are living proof that you can live and die by the jumper.  Lately it has been dying.

Yeah and now Blazers have zero interest in Bynum. I really thought he was worth the small risk. If anything he would be at the end of our bench and we use him as a sub. Hopefully we do make some type of trade for a quality back up center. Right no...
