If frowning won championships, Perk would have more than Bill Russell. He hasnt been the same since he left Boston. Rondo made him look like a stud. Can Lillard do that for him ? Dont know, but id rather have DeAndre Jordan.

I wouldnt be surprised if Jammal Franklin turns on to be the best player out this draft. He is a stud. I might like him more that KCP....

KCP, Franlin, and Glen Rice Jr are some good SGs prospecs

I dig the sleepers that get no love. Franklin has that certain "you cant hold me " swagger about him that would fit nicely across from Lillards quiet assassin approach. Pair that with the L Train and Frenchmans assault,we're formidable. Of course add yet to be determined big man presence and we beast.

Trade 10 for Utahs 14 and 21 to grab Franklin and Dieng??

I think Utah keeps their picks now with Shane Larkin and Deenis Shroeder looking like real prospects so they are less interested in Cj Mcollum and Micheal Carter Williams.

Pekovic is completely offensive minded. He is just big and bulky so people think he's a good defender. He's not a bad defender, but he's not a good fit for us. Gortat and Splitter would be best.

I think the real key is also to create opportunities for an offensive minded center. LA takes 17-19 shots a game. Lillard about the same. If we get an offensive center he will need about 10-12 per game himself. I don't mind the idea. But he would have to be atleast above average on the boards and be willing to do the work at the defensive end. If he alters shots and grabs 6-7 boards a game I'll take him.

Question is: Who is gonna be that guy? And how do we get him for less than 10million?

I personally still like Spencer Hawes. I like his ability to pass as a big man and he has the size to be a better rim protector than Hickson. Perhaps getting him via a sign and trade for Hickson is the best move we could make. Philly are just on the bubble in the east and it looks like they could push the bucks out if they can't keep either Jennings or Ellis to help their offense. They have good big men in Sanders and Ilyasova, but neither of those guys will get you 20 a night like their backcourt guys are capable. So Getting Hawes for Hickson may be a move they are open to. Throw in a second rounder for good measure.

If we want an Offensive minded centre, Pek is the best. He is a very good offensive rebounder, is one of the best at finishing in close, and loves contact. But, we need a defensive guy. I love Pekovic. I would love for him to be a Blazer someday, but not today.

I guess, but I think Pekovic will be better to have when your playing the Powerhouses in todays game. I just dont think Spiltter and Gortat are that much better at defense than Pekovic. Pek is more offensive minded but Splitter and Gortat are not great defenders in my opinion. Also Pek is 10X more intimidating than those two.

But Pek will get a MAX deal so no reason talking about it.

Hawes would be a good pick up. I also would love to bring in Evan Turner but dont see how we can bring both in....If Philly drafts a center,  they might give up Hawes for a Hickson package.

Dude, Splitter SHUT DOWN Z-BO in the west coast finals. SHUT. HIM. DOWN. Legit. He is a great defender, and is efficient around the rim. Lot of flip shots and floaters. Not weak, just finesse.

Neither did I, but I watched most of it. Duncan did defend him, but so did Splitter. They kept switching between Z-Bo and Gasol. He isn't great on the defensive boards, but we need a defender primarily.

I think we could get an offensive minded guy. But that would mean getting another wing defender so that our bigs don't face the same pressure to help on defense. Ronnie Brewer would be good. I also like the idea of getting Ridnour to be a backup at the PG spot. He is an irritant on defense and makes it tough for opposition match ups to get into a real rhythm.

NY are looking for more youth, they may be willing to take our 2 of our second round picks and Hickson via sign and trade for Shumpert or JR Smith. That's instant offense and the reigning 6th man of the year. Smith is a decent rebounder for a guard and is clutch in the 4th quarter. They need youth, we need scoring off the bench. Just an idea though. Not sure what you guys think...

Blaser please tell me you're trolling. JR Smith is horrible. Got a lot of off court problems and even more on court. He and Carmelo as similar. Take a lot of shots, not necessarily good ones. Sometimes they go in, and they're the hero, but more often than not, they don't.

Smith will provide a spark. He is different from Matthews in his approach and his skill set. He showed during his huge scoring run in March that he isn't just a kamikaze shooter, but that he can score in bunches while working within the flow of an offense. He can get to the rim at times and plays well off the ball like all good SG should.

Yes, he is a defensive nightmare and can be a loose cannon, but he didn't win 6th man of the year by playing poorly. His offense from the bench made New York a legit playoff team. He can play the SG and if we play small he can play SF and provide offense when Batum and Wes are both sitting. We would need a good defensive backup though. Ronnie brewer, or Corey Brewer. And that would give us the room to draft Dieng because we would have the bench scorer we need.

JR would simply not fit in Portland. He wants to be a star obviously, and do you think he will agree to be third option behind Damian and Lamarcus Aldridge? He will also go for a huge contract. And March was just a good month for him. He overall shot only 35% from 3-10ft and 37% from 10-16ft and 40% from 16-3pt line. Not very good numbers. (I know I know, Lamarcus only shoots slightly better from 16-3pt). Here's the thing though, 79 percent of LMA's 16-3pt shots are assisted on, whereas JR's is only 19%. Some may see this as he can create for himself, I see this as ball hog.

I think Ricky Ledo could be a hidden gem. I saw Chad Ford say that if both McCollum and KCP are off the board he wouldn't be surprised if Portland took a sleeper at 10. He has an amazing jumpshot, he has great handles, and at 6'7" he has the ability to play 3 different positions. He worked out today, does anyone know how that went?

Kcp good size at 6'6 can defend well should translate to the nba, can shoot well and sounds like a mature prospect at 20. Can play alongside lillard and may be able to help lillards defence deficiencies.

I think KCP can shoot well, just not as well as McCollum and Ledo can. Minnesota really likes Oladipo, so if they can't move up in the draft to get him I think they will take KCP at 9... Great video Siccolo, love to see an interview like that. McCollum has a great basketball IQ

Ah and all is forgiven my choice of why in a fan and why I choose kcp but McCollum wouldn't be a bad pick but don't know if he can play the two in size. I feel we shouldn't draft a centre coz we should put some faith in leonard at least for one more year and look for a centre through freeagency and trades.

I think if kcp is on the board when we pick we should grab him we need depth @ the 3 and barton looked to be flourishing @ the end of last season and we shoud look to free agency for a 6th man not a first year rookie that hasn't even proven himself in the nba yet

Well as we now know we got shooting guard C.J. McCollum out of Lehigh. I think this is a brilliant draft pick. He will fit in great with Lillard, and I see him starting by midseason if he develops like I think he will. After all, he will be the prime, and literally the only consistent and real offensive threat off the bench. I see Matthews being traded during the season at some point. McCollum has range, can create his own shot, good free throw shooter, and he can light it up on any given night. These are qualities Portland needs now. Our bench is, well in a word, pathetic. After all, dead last in offensive production. Now that takes some serious doing. It's remarkable that Portland didn't finish close to dead last, given that we have an undersized center with Hickson, a rookie point guard, a terrible bench, a small forward, Batum, that began to disappear towards the last part of the season, again. Just goes to show you what Lillard and Aldridge could do if they had a consistent team around them. I predicted Lillard would be the rookie of the year when we drafted him. I looked at his college numbers and looked at the fact he was stepping into mostly a pressure free environment, a place he didn't have to compete day in and out for his job. Just because some of these guys go to smaller schools or schools that aren't Duke, Kentucky, Indiana, etc. doesn't mean they aren't just as good as any of those players. I played small college ball, and a lot of those guys are capable of playing at the big schools. There are just so many scholarships and spots to go around. Look at players like Kersey and Porter. Went to small schools, Kersey a second round pick, and they both became stars in the league. I think is many of these cases these guys come in and want to prove they can beat the guys who went to the premier schools, and often they do. C.j. McCollum may not win Rookie of the Year, because he won't get the minutes most likely, but he will be a starter on the Rookie All-Star team, and I see him easily putting up 14 points a night his rookie season, with some nights in the mid 20's. The guy can flat out shoot, him and Crabbe will be basically the only two on the bench who can score with any consistency. I have no idea how any professional team can have such a terrible bench. No wonder Lillard led all rookies with the most minutes played. I could take five guys off my old small college team and put up the 18 points a night our bench averaged!!! These guys should have to give some of their money back for failure to report to duty!! How much longer are we going to try out Luke Babbitt, even when he does make a three, which isn't very often, his awkward left handed shot looks like a wounded duck headed to the rim. He isn't a great defender, he is foot slow, isn't the offensive threat they had hoped, so why not trade him for a future pick before teams see he will never get much better. Just keeping it real here folks. I really hope Hickson stays, likely he won't. These guys find Portland boring at their young age, many of them come from big cities with a lot more to do. We are a nice city, but we are also a very strange city and not a lot of outsiders understand us here. So,  a lot of these guys don't spend their careers here, they get their one contract and leave. If Hickson leaves, then what? Put Meyers Leonard in? Or try the new guy Robinson? I have serious concerns about him. Not often do you see a former #5 pick go to three teams in just his first two years. I realize he is developing slow, but a team wouldn't give up on him unless there was something else, something that isn't being said, like his maturity and how he gets along in the locker room. Something isn't right about this guy. God, I hope I am wrong once again. I am hit and miss with this stuff. Anyway, Go Blazers!!!
